About Epic Deals
OUR EPIC STORY
As with many businesses, Epic Deals was established by our founder, Brad, scratching his own itch.
Brad had a love of the latest tech but couldn’t stand the process of buying and selling via classified sites. After dealing with the final scammer that broke the camel’s back, Epic Deals was born.
Almost 10 years ago, Brad started building the business from home. It grew quickly and he ran out of space for stock in his small home office. Stock kept piling up – so he expanded his “warehousing” to the couch in the lounge. This didn’t last long.
His loving wife made it very clear that the business needed to move into its own space.
In 2015 the business moved into a small 5 x 5m office (a converted garage) and employed its second employee.
The business has grown to be a team of 29 and has over 10,000 devices in our 600m² warehouse.
While there are now many small businesses trying to do what we do, we pioneered the formalised online buying and selling of used tech online in South Africa.
We are proud to have nearly 2,000 positive ratings on bidorbuy.co.za and we are the top-rated used tech company on HelloPeter.
Our team is focused on customer service and we maintain a “continual learning” environment, so everyone
on our team is always improving.
Instead of complaining about the state of our country, we want to be part of the solution. We want to grow our business and employ as many people as we can. Our team also has a heart for the poor and is actively involved in community upliftment and entrepreneurial training programs in the local townships.
For security and operational reasons, we do not allow collections at our warehouse and only deliver by courier. Delivery is overnight to most areas in SA.

Chief Executive Officer
Andrew, our CEO, leads with a rare combo of sharp vision and genuine heart. He’s the kind of boss who’ll roll up his sleeves without being asked and somehow still remembers everyone’s birthday. Driven, dedicated, and endlessly supportive, Andrew works harder than anyone, but never too busy to check in, crack a joke, or lend a hand. Basically, he’s the captain you’d actually want steering the ship.
Armandt
Head of Finance
Armandt, our Head of Finance, might come off quiet, and yes, occasionally gives off “I will flip this calculator” energy, but beneath that steely exterior is a heart of gold (and a surprising love for poems and anime). He keeps the numbers sharp, the budgets tighter than a Naruto headband, and somehow still finds time to quote Shakespeare and Studio Ghibli. Just don’t mess up your expense report… he will notice.

Tech Leader
Stuart, our fearless Tech Leader, is the guy who makes the Wi-Fi behave and the servers stay humble. He leads the tech team with equal parts genius and Google. If it blinks, beeps, or breaks, Stuart’s already on it, usually with a raised eyebrow and a perfectly timed sarcastic comment.

Head of Sales
Nico, our Head of Sales, somehow balances keeping the office running and keeping everyone laughing. One minute he’s chasing down missing forms, the next he’s roasting someone’s printer skills with Olympic-level sarcasm. He’s the reason the admin side runs smoothly and the reason no one dares leave their lunch unattended.

Procurement Leader
Jarred, our fearless Procurement Officer, has a black belt in bargaining and once negotiated a coffee supplier down to throwing in free mugs and emotional support.He can sniff out a bulk discount from 100 yards and still somehow ends up with more pens than anyone asked for. We don’t know how he does it, we just know we can’t afford to lose him

Head of Salvage
Veronica, our Salvage Leader, wrangles the wild world of insurance recoveries like a pro. She turns written-off chaos into organised opportunity and somehow manages to make “damaged goods” sound like a business plan. Leading her team with sharp instincts and sharper wit, she’s the reason broken things find new purpose and why no one argues with her about cellular usage.

Tinisha, our Head of Listings, has the uncanny ability to turn even the most random item into something you’d suddenly want to buy. She’s got an eye for detail, a nose for a good description, and a sixth sense for what sells. From specs to spelling, nothing slips past her, except maybe the occasional sigh when someone sends her blurry photos again.

Head of Inventory
Wessel, our Head of Inventory, knows where everything is, even that one weird part nobody’s seen since 2022. He runs the stockroom like a vault, with laser focus and just enough sarcasm to keep things interesting. Whether it’s counting, tracking, or magically finding the unfindable, Wessel keeps it all under control… and somehow still finds time to remind us not to “just take things without logging them.”

Kamo, our Sales & Customer Service agent, has the charm to sell sand in a desert and the patience of a saint—especially on Monday mornings. Whether he’s closing deals or calming down confused customers, he does it all with a smile, a smooth comeback, and just enough sass to keep things fun. If good vibes were a sales strategy, Kamo’s already trademarked it.

Daniëllé, our Sales & Customer Service powerhouse (literally), handles customers by day and opponents at the armwrestling table by night. He’s got the grip of a vice and the charm to match closing deals with a smile and probably crushing handshakes along the way. Whether it’s negotiating or knocking out reps at practice, Daniëllé brings strength, style, and just a hint of friendly intimidation.

Procurement Technician
Dwayne, our “Sell Your” Technician, is the guy who gets handed the weird, the broken, and the “I swear it worked yesterday” items and somehow makes sense of it all. He’s got a steady hand, a good heart, and just enough sarcasm to survive the daily chaos. Whether it’s testing, fixing, or just figuring out what on earth he’s looking at, Dwayne gets it done, with a grin and maybe a muttered “not again.”
MIGUEL
Procurement agent
Miguel, our Junior Procurement Agent, is always on the hunt for the best deals and the best snacks in the office. He’s quick on the emails, quicker on the quotes, and slowly mastering the ancient art of customer follow-ups. With a sharp eye, and a good attitude, Miguel’s proving that procurement power doesn’t always come with a senior title, sometimes it comes with hustle and a killer hoodie.
Darrien
Head of Advanced Repairs
Darrien, our Senior Advanced Technician, is the guy you call when things get weird, wires get crossed, or no one else knows what that blinking light means. With a toolbox full of skills and a brain that runs faster than most processors, he’s the calm in the tech storm. He’s seen it all, fixed most of it, and still manages to crack a very dry joke while doing it. Basically, if tech had a boss level, Darrien’s already beat it.

Technician
Ruan, our Advanced Technician, might look like Krillin from Dragon Ball Z, but don’t let the resemblance fool you, he’s got his own kind of power level. Calm, focused, and always ready with a solution (or a perfectly timed joke), Ruan tackles tech troubles like a pro. Whether he’s fixing something complicated or just casually saving the day, he does it with the quiet confidence of a guy who’s seen it all, and probably has a Dragon Ball reference ready for it.

Juan, our go-to guy for laptops and gaming PCs, treats every machine like it’s about to enter a tournament. Whether it’s a sluggish system or a full-blown meltdown, he’s got the skills to bring it back to life, and maybe even make it run better than new.
